The Terry and Maureen Hopkins Foundation was established by the late Maureen Hopkins in 2017 to support medical research into the causes of (and ultimately a cure for) bowel cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.

The Foundation is managed by Australian Executor Trustees (AET, part of Equity Trustees) which supports an advisory committee to review and assess grant applications and charitable partnerships.

How granting decisions are made

The Foundation supports:

• Research to address the current gaps in knowledge of the underlying causes of dementia and AD and the mechanisms that underpin disease progression,
• Improvements to dementia diagnostic tools and technologies,
• Research to develop new treatments that aim to slow or even halt dementia progression,
• Evidence-based clinical and care-setting practices that support wellbeing and promote quality of life.

The Foundation will invite applications from suitable organisations for funding up to $50,000 per annum and may consider supporting multiple year funding agreements.
