Equity Trustees today announced the appointment of Nevein Versace as Chief Risk Officer (CRO); she replaces the highly regarded outgoing CRO Owen Brailsford who leaves the business after five years of service at the end of August.

“With outstanding experience which is well aligned with our growing and unique trustee business, including a fulsome understanding of the regulatory environment and our key stakeholders, we’re very pleased Nevein will be joining us as CRO,” said Mick O’Brien, Managing Director, Equity Trustees.

“The CRO is a critical role in our business, which at its core is focussed on governance and risk management across all lines of our diverse and highly specialised trustee services.”

With an extensive background in financial services and superannuation, Ms Versace has most recently been Acting General Manager of Compliance at HESTA. Her previous leadership roles include Head of Enterprise Risk at Australian Super and Chief Risk Officer (Australia) at Northern Trust.

She has a Masters of Law, Bachelor of Law (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) from the University of Melbourne.

Ms Versace’s appointment begins on 23 September.
